Nintendo shares increase with news that the Super Mario franchise is to be made available on iPhone. The game Super Mario Run will be available in 100 countries from Apple’s App Store from December. Download is free, but if you want to play the full game you must pay. Nevertheless, this opens the Super Mario games to iPhone user for the first time.

This opens a whole new market for Nintendo, and it is little wonder that Nintendo shares have increased. They have not quite rocketed, but the increased initially by 18% and settled back down to 13%. The tie-up was announced at the same event in San Francisco on September 7 when iPhone 7 was launched.

Nintendo Joins Mobile Games Craze

Nintendo has been falling behind on meeting the mobile demand for games. Smartphones are the gaming industry’s fastest growing platform and revenue source, and Nintendo has finally joined the mobile fray. It is planning to offer more gaming titles by March of next year.

According to the game’s creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, a version for Android mobile devices will be launched later – but no indication when. He was cheered at the iPhone 7 launch as he stated that “Mario is running toward his next goal: iPhone.”

Nintendo Shares – Nintendo and Super Mario – and Pokemon!

It makes sense for Nintendo to take this step.  If the company is seriously wishing to remain among the top gaming companies, then Nintendo must meet the demands of the entire mobile market. The Nintendo shares increase shows that IPhone is an obvious choice, and Mario is the ideal character to bring Nintendo into the 21st century and get going more mobile.

Another development for Apple is the new gaming phenomenon Pokémon Go! This is to be transferred to the Apple Watch, which will vibrate whenever it detects a Pokémon or PokeStops in the close vicinity. The gaming industry is moving fast, and technology must move with it if it wants to keep up. Nintendo shares will continue to rise as it satisfies the needs of mobile online gamers.
